Welcome to Ancestral Roots Apothecary, where we formulate our remedies in harmony with the body's natural processes and prepare them in sync with and using the energy of the cycles of Sacred Mother Earth and Grandmother Moon.  In our Apothecary, every remedy, essential oil blend and exquisite perfume is formulated and prepared with love intentionally, infused with its specific purpose and charged with potent healing energies.

Wildcrafting can be defined as “…the practice of harvesting plants from their natural, or 'wild' habitat, primarily for food or medicinal purposes. It applies to uncultivated plants wherever they may be found, and is not necessarily limited to wilderness areas.” Wikipedia The East Kootenay region of British Columbia is blessed with a diverse selection of natural sources of herbs. Assisted by her daughter, Chelsea Blackmore, our herbalist seeks these out in their season, and many of the herbs in our remedies are locally sourced from nature.

  • Kyphi, or cyphi, or Egyptian cyphi is a compound incense that was used in ancient Khemet for religious and medical purposes. It can also be worn as a perfume. I just received it and put a tiny bit on my wrist and I am immediately feeling the effects of this sacred blend of oils on my nervous system. I’m smelling myself! Lol Kyphi’s ingredients can be found in accounts of practices recorded in Biblical and Ayurvedic scriptures, as well as accounts of usage in the far East as well. I’ll be using it in prayer, meditation, and other ritual practices.
